An unincorporated nonprofit organisation aimed to unite anaesthetists, intensive care doctors and anaesthesia practitioners of Ukrainian origin in all parts of the United Kingdom.
About our association
The Association of Ukrainian Anaesthetists in Great Britain is a unnincorporated nonprofit organisation aimed to unite anaesthetists, intensive care doctors and anaesthesia practitioners of Ukrainian origin in all parts of the United Kingdom. The Association was founded in 2023 by a group of anaesthetists of Ukrainian origin led by Dr Andrii Harha who is a Ukrainian anaesthetist working in the UK. After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022, a large number of Ukrainian doctors including anaesthetists have fled to the United Kingdom. The Association is a democratic organisation and aims to provide support to anaesthetists of Ukrainian origin in the UK as well as collaborate with Ukrainian anaesthetists based in Ukraine to improve Ukrainian healthcare and anaesthesia services.
Goals
Communication
To provide a forum for communication and interaction between the anaesthetists of Ukrainian origin in the UK
Education
To provide educational, informational and other ways of support to Ukrainian anaesthetists working in Ukraine and work to improve the Ukrainian healthcare system
Support
To provide support and counselling for Ukrainian anaesthetists in the UK regarding their career pathways, job choices, and steps needed to achieve personal career goals
Linking
To establish links with and to support organisations (charitable and otherwise) as well as individuals in the UK and elsewhere, associated with improving healthcare in Ukraine.
Organisation
To organise educational and scientific meetings in order to promote evidence-based medicine and good medical practice in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care
Membership
Membership in the Association if free of payment and is open to anaesthetists, intensive care doctors, and anaesthesia practitioners of Ukrainian origin in all parts of the UK as well as to doctors and nurses in based Ukraine who are interested in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care system of the UK.
